Jim Lile is currently an associate professor of technical production at Florida State University. He is also currently the director of production for Des Moines Metro Opera and technical director for Nashville Opera. He earned an MFA in Technical Design and Production from Yale School of Drama. He worked at Purdue University Theatre as an assistant professor and technical director. He has worked with Norwegian Cruise Lines, Utah Shakespeare Festival, and Opera Santa Barbara. He works as a freelance production manager, technical director for numerous regional opera companies.
